BODY CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1.Open the I/P compartment door.

IMPORTANT: After replacement of the BCM, programming is required.

2. Remove the I/P compartment lamp assembly by pulling on the lamp plunger.
3. Disconnect the lamp wiring harness from the I/P compartment.




4. Remove the lower closeout panel from the right side of the instrument panel (I/P).
5. Pull the closeout panel rearward to detach the panel from the retainers.




6. Remove the retainer from the heater outlet assembly on the right side and remove the outlet.
7. Remove the I/P compartment door.




8. Remove the I/P compartment bin fasteners.




9. Slowly remove the I/P compartment bin, tilting the bin downward, to expose the BCM residing on the top of the I/P compartment.
10. Remove the BCM module from the I/P compartment by sliding the module out of the attaching slots.
11. Remove the BCM harness connectors.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the I/P compartment partially into the opening.
2. Secure the BCM to the I/P compartment slots
3. Install the BCM harness connectors.




4. Route the lamp wiring harness through the lamp opening and connect the wiring harness to the I/P compartment lamp.
5. Snap the lamp into the compartment bin.
6. Install the I/P compartment bin with fasteners.

Tighten the fasteners to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

7. Install the I/P compartment door.




8. Install the right side heater outlet to the I/P compartment bin using the retainers.




9. Install the closeout panel to the right side lower I/P using the retainers.
10. Operate the I/P compartment lamp and the I/P compartment door to ensure proper operation.
