Rear Door: Service and Repair

Door Replacement - Side Rear

Removal Procedure

1. Using a small flat-bladed tool, remove the rear door wiring harness electrical conduit from the rear door pillar.
2. Disconnect the rear door wiring harness electrical connector.




3. Remove the rear door check link bolt.




4. Remove the rear door hinge bolts.
5. With an assistant, remove the rear door.



Disassembly Procedure

1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door Service and Repair
2. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the rear door wiring harness.
4. Remove the rear door lock. Refer to Lock Replacement - Rear Door (Sedan) (Lock Replacement - Rear Door (Sedan)) .
5. Remove the rear door window regulator. Refer to Window Regulator Replacement - Rear Door (Power Regulator) (Rear Door Window Regulator - Power)Window Regulator Replacement - Rear Door (Manual Regulator) (Rear Door Window Regulator - Manual) .
6. Remove the rear door outside handle. Refer to Door Handle Pivot Replacement - Outside (Door Handle Pivot Replacement - Outside) .
7. Remove the rear door outer panel. Refer to Outer Door Panel Replacement Rear - Bolt On (Sedan) ()Outer Door Panel Replacement Rear - Bolt On (Coupe) () .
8. Remove the rear door hinges. Refer to Hinge Replacement - Rear Door (Sedan) (Hinge Replacement - Rear Door (Sedan))Hinge Replacement - Rear Door (Coupe) (Hinge Replacement - Rear Door (Coupe)) .
9. Remove the rear door check link. Refer to Door Check Strap Replacement - Side Rear (Service and Repair) .
10. Remove the rear door stationary window. Refer to Window Replacement - Rear Door Stationary (Sedan) (Service and Repair)Window Replacement - Rear Door Stationary (Coupe) (Service and Repair) .
11. Remove the rear door applique. Refer to Door Frame Applique Replacement - Front () or to Door Frame Applique Replacement - Rear () .



Assembly Procedure

1. Install the rear door stationary window. Refer to Window Replacement - Rear Door Stationary (Sedan) (Service and Repair)Window Replacement - Rear Door Stationary (Coupe) (Service and Repair) .
2. Install the rear door check link. Refer to Door Check Strap Replacement - Side Rear (Service and Repair) .
3. Install the rear door hinges. Refer to Hinge Replacement - Rear Door (Sedan) (Hinge Replacement - Rear Door (Sedan))Hinge Replacement - Rear Door (Coupe) (Hinge Replacement - Rear Door (Coupe)) .
4. Install the rear door outside handle. Refer to Door Handle Pivot Replacement - Outside (Door Handle Pivot Replacement - Outside) .
5. Install the rear door window regulator. Refer to Window Regulator Replacement - Rear Door (Power Regulator) (Rear Door Window Regulator - Power)Window Regulator Replacement - Rear Door (Manual Regulator) (Rear Door Window Regulator - Manual) .
6. Install the rear door lock. Refer to Lock Replacement - Rear Door (Sedan) (Lock Replacement - Rear Door (Sedan)) .
7. Install the rear door wiring harness.
8. Install the rear door outer panel. Refer to Outer Door Panel Replacement Rear - Bolt On (Sedan) ()Outer Door Panel Replacement Rear - Bolt On (Coupe) () .
9. Install the rear door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
10. Install the rear door applique. Refer to Door Frame Applique Replacement - Front () or to Door Frame Applique Replacement - Rear () .
11. Install the rear door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door Service and Repair



Installation Procedure





1. With an assistant, position the rear door to the rear door hinges.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the rear door hinge bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).





3. Install the rear door check link bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

4. Connect the rear door wiring harness electrical conduit.
5. Press the rear door wiring harness electrical connector into the rear door pillar until fully seated.
