Fender Replacement - Front (Coupe)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the rocker panel. Refer to Molding Replacement - Rocker Panel in Exterior Trim.
3. Remove the mirror applique.
4. Remove the front roof applique. Refer to Molding Replacement - Roof Weld Joint Reveal - Front (Coupe) Molding Replacement - Roof Weld Joint Reveal - Front (Sedan) in Exterior Trim.
5. Remove the headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.
6. Remove the side marker lamp assembly. Refer to Marker Lamp Replacement - Front Side in Lighting Systems.




7. Remove the rear of the front fascia from the fender support bracket.




8. Remove the bolts from the bottom, front, and top of the fender.
9. Remove the fender from the vehicle.
10. If the fender requires replacement, remove the following components:

* The fender emblem. Refer to Emblem/Nameplate Replacement - Front Fender in Exterior Trim.
* The fender brace. Refer to Brace Replacement - Front Fender Upper Diagonal (Service and Repair) .




Installation Procedure

1. If the fender requires replacement, install the following components:

* The fender emblem. Refer to Emblem/Nameplate Replacement - Front Fender in Exterior Trim.
* The fender brace. Refer to Brace Replacement - Front Fender Upper Diagonal (Service and Repair) .





2. Position the fender on the motor compartment side rail.
3. Align the fender to the door and the hood.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the bolt which secures the fender to the front body hinge pillar.

Tighten the bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

5. Install the following bolts:

* The bolts that secure the fender flange to the upper compartment side rail
* The bolts that secure the fender to the headlamp bracket
* The bolts that secure the rear lower fender to the support

Tighten the bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).






6. Position the fascia from the fender. Press the fascia into place.
7. Install the side marker lamp assembly. Refer to Marker Lamp Replacement - Front Side in Lighting Systems.
8. Install the headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.
9. Install the front roof applique. Refer to Molding Replacement - Roof Weld Joint Reveal - Front (Coupe) Molding Replacement - Roof Weld Joint Reveal - Front (Sedan) in Exterior Trim.
10. Install the front fender. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement (Service and Repair) .
11. Install the mirror applique.
12. Install the rocker panel. Refer to Molding Replacement - Rocker Panel in Exterior Trim.
13. Install the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement (Service and Repair) .
