Front Seat Head Restraint Guide Replacement (Fold Flat)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front seat from the vehicle.
2. Remove the head restraint.




3. Remove the screws from the trim panels on the inboard and the outboard seat back recliners.
4. Remove the inboard and the outboard trim panels.
5. Remove the screws from the seat cushion outer trim panel.
6. Remove the outer trim panel.




7. Position the seat back in the fold flat position.
8. Remove the screws from the seat back panel.
9. Remove the panel from the seat back.




10. Remove the seat back frame bolts.
11. Remove the seat back from between the recliners.




12. Disconnect the J-hook retainer along the rear edge of the seat back.




13. Lift the seat back trim cover to expose the center J-hook retainer. Disconnect the retainer.






Notice: Use care when disengaging the hook and loop fasteners. The hook end may pull from the seat foam pad, requiring foam pad replacement.

14. Lift the seat back trim cover. Carefully disengage the hook and loop fasteners until you expose the head restraint guides.




15. Press the locking tabs and pull up on the head restraint guides. Remove the guides from the seat back frame, the pad, and the trim.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the head restraint guides by pushing the guides down into the seat back trim, the pad, and the frame until you engage the locking tabs.




2. Install the seat back trim cover. Press over the hook and loop locations to ensure that you have engaged the fasteners.




3. Install the center J-hook retainer.




4. Install the lower J-hook retainer.




5. Position the seat back between the recliners.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

6. Install the seat back frame bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 60 N.m (44 lb ft).




7. Install the seat back panel.
8. Install the screws to the seat back panel.

Tighten the bolts to 1 N.m (9 lb in).




9. Install the outer trim panel to the seat cushion.
10. Install the outer trim panel screws.

Tighten the bolts to 1 N.m (9 lb in).

11. Install the trim panels to the inboard and the outboard seat back recliners.
12. Install the trim panel screws.

Tighten the bolts to 1 N.m (9 lb in).

13. Install the head restraint.
14. Install the front seat from the vehicle.
