Rearview Mirror Support Installation (with Rainsensor)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the inner rearview mirror from the retaining plate.

* Release the rain sensor cover.
* Disconnect the wiring harness plug (1).
* Compress the clamp (2) and pull the mirror downwards to remove.

2. Clean the windshield in the area to be cemented with glass cleaner.
3. Place masking tape around the area on the windshield where the retaining plate is to be cemented.
Gently sand the retaining plate (grain P100) and clean.



Installation Procedure





1. Affix the retaining plate.

* Mix the 2-component adhesive GM P/N 89021329 (Canadian P/N 89020893) in accordance with the instructions and apply to the retaining plate approximately 1 mm (0.039 in) thick.
* Only press the retaining plate lightly onto the windshield.
* Fasten the retaining plate. Retaining plate position:

- I = 20 mm (0.78 in) from edge of molded headlining.
- II = middle windshield.


2. Install the interior rearview mirror.

1. Replace the mirror and listen for the click.
2. Connect the wiring harness plug.
3. Install the rain sensor cover.
