Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement (Active)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front seat back. Refer to Front Seat Back Replacement (Front Seat Back Replacement)
2. Remove the rotary handle on vehicles with lumbar support.
Remove the handle.




3. Remove the armrest on vehicles with armrests.

* Fold the driver seat armrest downwards, press armrest cover (1) to one side, pull out retaining clips (2) to front.
* Remove the armrest.





4. Remove the head restraint guide sleeve.

* Bend the standard wire release hook, wire diameter 1-1.5 mm (0.04-0.06 in), for active head restraint guide sleeve.
* Mark insertion depth of 50-55 mm (1.97-2.17 in).
* Insert the release hook opposite the release button of the active headrest guide sleeve, release the guide sleeve and pull out upwards.





5. Remove the upholstery covering.

* Remove the upholstery covering from seat mount all the way round (arrows).
* Remove the 11 upholstery clamps.
* Remove the upholstery covering.





6. Remove the active head restraint frame.

* Remove the active head restraint tension spring.
* Unscrew 2 bolts (l).
* Remove the frame from the guide (arrows).




Installation Procedure


Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

1. Install the active head restraint frame.

* Insert the frame.

Tighten the 2 bolts to 3.5 N.m (32 lb in).

* Install the active head restraint tension spring.

2. Install the upholstery covering.

* Position the upholstery covering.
* Install the 11 upholstery clamps.
* Fasten the upholstery covering to the seat mount all the way round.

3. Install the armrest on vehicles with armrests.

* Install the clamp.
* Insert the armrest.

4. Install the rotary handle in vehicles with lumbar support.
Push on the handle.
5. Install the front seat back. Refer to Front Seat Back Replacement (Front Seat Back Replacement)
