Front Seat Cushion Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution (Battery Disconnect Caution) .

Important: Wait 1 minute for the airbag to deactivate.


1. Disconnect the battery.




2. Remove the front seat belt securing panel (1).
3. Remove the seat belt from the front seat.
Remove the bolt (2).
4. Position the seat to the most forward position.




5. Remove the driver seat, rear.
Remove the 2 bolts (1).

Important: Disconnect the wiring harness plug.


6. Remove the front seat.
Remove from the front seat guide.




7. Partly remove the front seat backrest paneling.

* Remove the paneling all around (I).
* Release the 2 clamps (II).





8. Remove the side airbag.
Remove the 3 bolts (1).
9. Remove the side airbag.
Release and disconnect the wiring harness plug.
10. Uncover the airbag cable harness.




11. Remove the height adjuster trim panel.
Release with a plastic wedge.
12. Remove the height adjuster.
Remove the 2 bolts (1) and remove the lever.
13. Remove the rear seat backrest adjuster wheel.
Release with a plastic wedge.




14. Remove outer paneling.

* Remove the 2 bolts (1, 3).
* Remove front of paneling from the guide (2).





15. Remove the interior paneling.

* Remove the bolt (1).
* Remove the paneling.

16. Remove the central wiring harness plug for seat in vehicles with heated seats.
Disconnect the connection.




17. Uncover the wiring harness for seat heating, if equipped.
Disconnect and uncover the wiring harness plug (arrows).
Remove the 3 cable ties (1).




18. Remove the front seat backrest.
Remove the 4 bolts (1, 2).
Remove the front seat backrest.




19. Remove the upholstery covering.

* Remove the upholstery covering from seat mount all the way around (arrows).
* Remove the 16 upholstery clamps.
* Remove the upholstery covering.

20. Replace the upholstery pad.



Installation Procedure

1. Install the upholstery covering to the pad.

* Position the upholstery covering.
* Install the 16 upholstery clamps.

2. Install the pad with upholstery covering.

* Insert the pad with upholstery covering.
* Fasten the upholstery covering to the seat mount all the way around.


Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

3. Install the front seat backrest.

Tighten the 4 bolts to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

4. Position the wiring harness for the seat heating, if equipped.
Secure with 4 cable tie.
5. Position the airbag cable harness.
6. Install the central wiring harness plug for the seat.
Connect the plug.
7. Install the interior paneling.
Insert the paneling.

Tighten the bolt to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

8. Install the exterior paneling.
Insert the paneling.

Tighten the 2 bolts to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

9. Install the rear seat backrest adjuster wheel.
Install the adjusting wheel.
10. Install the height adjuster.

Tighten the 2 bolts to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

11. Install the height adjuster panel.
Install the panel.

Important: Ensure correct wiring harness routing.


12. Insert the side airbag.
Connect and latch the wiring harness plug.
13. Fasten the side airbag.

Tighten the 3 bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

14. Fasten the front seat backrest paneling.

* Re-Install the 2 clamps.
* Fasten the paneling all around.


Important: Connect the wiring harness plug.


15. Install the front seat.
Insert into front guide.
16. Install the front seat, rear.

Tighten the 2 bolt to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

17. Reposition the seat to the original position.
18. Install the seat belt at the front seat.

Tighten the bolt to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

19. Install the seat belt fastening panel.
20. Connect the battery.
