Camshaft Cover Removal

Special Tools

KM-6009 Remover/Installer





1. Unclip the engine wiring trough (1) from the cylinder head and lay the wiring trough to the side.
2. Disconnect the DIS ignition module wiring harness plug (2).





Important: Note the arrow on the cover.


3. Remove the cover of the DIS ignition module in the direction of the arrow.
4. Remove the 2 bolts, and using the KM-6009 (1), remove the spark plugs.
5. Remove the DIS ignition module.




6. Remove the ignition module. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement (Service and Repair) .
7. Remove the engine management wiring harness from the intake manifold, camshaft head cover.

* Disconnect the wiring harness (1) from the bracket.
* Disconnect the wiring trough (2).





8. Remove the engine venting pipe (1).

* Disconnect the wiring trough (2) from the camshaft head cover.
* Disconnect the 2 quick-release fittings.





9. Remove the 11 bolts (2).
10. Remove the camshaft cover (1).
