Driver Knee Bolster Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the steering column paneling.

1. Remove the 2 panels.
2. Remove the 2 bolts.
3. Tilt upper steering column paneling upwards.
4. Remove the steering wheel lock (1).
5. Remove the 3 bolts.
6. Remove the lower paneling.





2. Remove the light switch center.

1. Turn on the light switch (1) and position the headlight low beam (3) place in the pressed condition.
2. Remove the light switch center (2).





3. Remove the inner paneling for the drivers side knee bolster.

1. Remove the 4 bolts.
2. Disconnect and remove the drivers knee bolster from the bracket.




Installation Procedure

1. Install the inner paneling for the drivers side knee bolster.
2. Install the drivers knee bolster into the lower bracket.

Tighten the 4 bolts to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

3. Install the light switch center.

1. Connect and latch the wiring harness plug.
2. Insert the light switch center.
3. Turn the switch to the OFF position.

4. Install the bottom steering column paneling.

1. Insert the lower steering column paneling.

Tighten the 3 bolts to 1 N.m (9 lb in).

2. Install the steering wheel lock.
3. Tilt the upper steering column paneling downwards.

Tighten the 2 bolts to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

4. Install the 2 panels.
