Front Toe Adjustment

Front Toe Adjustment

Removal Procedure

Important: Always perform adjustment at both tie rods. The two tie rods may display a maximum difference in length of 5 mm (0.20 in) after adjustment.

1. Put the steering in straight ahead position.
2. Loosen the lock nut (1) at left and right tie rods.
Counterhold at tie rod using open-ended wrench.
3. Adjust the wheel toe by rotating the tie rod (2).

Important: The nominal value includes a tolerance range, thus permitting a toe-in setting (+ wheel toe) as well as a toe-out (- wheel toe). The tie rods must be set so that either both front wheels point inwards by half of the front toe-in setting, or both front wheels point outwards by half of the front toe-out setting.

4. For specifications, refer to Wheel Alignment Specifications (Specifications) .

Important: The steering wheel must be in the straight-ahead position when inspecting by means of a test drive.
