J 45004 Fuel Tank Drain Hose
Caution: Never drain or store fuel in an open container. Always use an approved fuel storage container in order to reduce the chance of fire or explosion.
Caution: Place a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby before performing any on-vehicle service procedures. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury.
1. Remove the fuel fill cap.
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service Intervals).
3. Loosen the fuel fill pipe hose clamp (3) at the fuel tank.
4. Separate the fuel fill pipe hose from the fuel tank.
5. Insert the J 45004 into the fuel tank until the hose reaches the bottom of the fuel tank.
6. Use an hand or air operated pump device in order to drain as much fuel as possible.
