Ignition Coil Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor.
3. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (2) from the ignition coil.
4. Reposition the brake booster vacuum hose clamp at the upper intake manifold.
5. Remove the brake booster vacuum hose from the upper intake manifold.
6. Remove the left side spark plug wires (1) from the ignition coils.
7. Remove the right side spark plug wires (2) from the ignition coils.
8. Remove the heated oxyen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector rosebud clip (1) from the ignition coil bracket.
9. Remove the ignition coil bolts and nuts.
10. Remove the ignition coil.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the ignition coil.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).
2. Install the ignition coil bolts and nuts.
Tighten the bolts/nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
3. Install the HO2S electrical connector rosebud clip (1) to the ignition coil bracket.
4. Install the right side spark plug wires (2) to the ignition coils.
5. Install the left side spark plug wires (1) to the ignition coils.
6. Install the brake booster vacuum hose to the upper intake manifold.
7. Position the brake booster vacuum hose clamp at the upper intake manifold.
8. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (2) to the ignition coil.
9. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the MAP sensor.
10. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
