Ignition Coil Replacement - Bank 1

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector(s) (3) from the ignition coil(s).
3. If removing the number 5 cylinder ignition coil, remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge tube. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube Replacement (Service and Repair).




4. Remove the ignition coil bolt(s).
5. Remove the ignition coil(s).



Installation Procedure





1. Install the ignition coil(s).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).

2. Install the ignition coil bolt(s).

Tighten the bolt(s) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. If the number 5 cylinder ignition coil was removed, install the EVAP canister purge tube. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube Replacement (Service and Repair).




4. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector(s) (3) to the ignition coil(s).
5. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (Service and Repair).
