Backup Lamp Switch Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the front floor closeout panel. Refer to Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Automatic Transmission) (Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Automatic Transmission))Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Manual Transmission) (Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Manual Transmission)) .
3. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the backup lamp switch (5).
4. Open the tie strap securing the pigtail to the transmission.
5. Remove the backup lamp switch with the aluminum washer.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice (Component Fastener Tightening Notice) .
1. Install the backup lamp switch with a NEW aluminum washer into the transmission case.
Tighten the backup lamp switch to 44 N.m (32 lb ft).
2. Secure the pigtail to the transmission with the tie strap.
3. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the backup lamp switch (5).
4. Install the front floor closeout panel. Refer to Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Automatic Transmission) (Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Automatic Transmission))Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Manual Transmission) (Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Manual Transmission)) .
5. Lower the vehicle.
