Camshaft Cover Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the ignition module. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Detach the engine management wiring harness from the intake manifold, cylinder head cover.

* Disconnect the wiring harness (1) from the bracket.
* Disconnect the wiring trough (2).




3. Remove the engine venting pipe (1).

* Disconnect the wiring trough (2) from the cylinder head cover.
* Disconnect the 2 quick-release fittings.




4. Remove the camshaft cover (1).
Remove the 11 bolts (2).

Installation Procedure

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Install the camshaft cover.
Insert new gasket in the cylinder head cover.

Tighten the 11 bolts to 8 Nm (71 lb in).

2. Install the engine venting pipe.
Connect the 2 quick-release fittings.
3. Attach the engine management wiring harness to the intake manifold.

* Connect the wiring trough.
* Clip the wiring harness into the guide.

4. Install the ignition module. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement (Service and Repair).
