Oil Pressure Diagnosis and Testing

Special Tools

KM-498-B - Oil Pressure Gage

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools (Tools and Equipment).

Removal Procedure

1. Open the hood.




2. Unscrew the closure bolt (1).
3. Clean the thread.

Measurement Procedure




1. Attach KM-498-B - gage (2) in combination with KM-232 (1).

2. Start the engine.
3. Oil Pressure, Check
At idling speed, the oil pressure must be at least 130 kPa (1.3 bar) and the oil temperature must be ≥80°C.

Installation Procedure

1. Switch off the engine.
2. Detach KM-498-B - gage together with KM-232.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install new closure bolt in the cylinder head and tighten to 15 Nm.
4. Check the engine oil level.
5. Close the hood.
