Headlamp Replacement - Left Side

Removal Procedure

Warning

The high intensity discharge system produces high voltage and current. In order to reduce the risk of severe shocks and burns, the battery negative cable must be disconnected any time service work is being performed on or around the high intensity discharge system.

Warning

The high intensity discharge system produces high voltage and current. To reduce the risk of severe shocks and burns:

* Never open the high intensity discharge system ballast or the arc tube assembly starter.
* Never probe between the high intensity discharge system ballast output connector and the arc tube assembly.

Warning: Refer to Halogen Bulb Warning (Service Precautions).


Note: Warning, high voltage. Do not touch components in the xenon dipped beam when the dipped beam is switched on. Ignition and light switch OFF.

1. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Front Bumper Fascia Replacement).
2. Remove the headlamp fuse.




3. Remove the headlamp - left side.

* Remove the 3 screws (1, 2).
* Remove the front fascia panel connector.
* Remove the headlamps.
* Release the wiring harness plug (3) and disconnect.




4. Remove the xenon lamp cover.
Remove the 3 bolts (1).
5. Remove the xenon lamp igniter.
To unlock, turn in the direction of the arrow.

* Disconnect the wiring harness plug.
* Remove the igniter.




6. Remove the xenon lamp.
Compress the retainer bracket (1) to release.

Installation Procedure

Note: Ensure correct installation position.

1. Install the rear lamp.

* Insert the xenon lamp.
* Lock the retainer bracket.

Note: The arrow on the sticker (igniter) must be at the top on installation.

2. Install xenon lamp igniter.

* To lock, turn opposite the direction of the arrow.
* Connect the wiring harness plug.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the xenon lamp cover.

Tighten the 3 bolts to 2.5 Nm (22 lb in).

4. Install the headlamp - left side.

* Insert the front fascia panel connector.
* Insert the headlamp.
* Connect the wiring harness plug.

Tighten the 3 bolts to 2.5 Nm (22 lb in).

5. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Front Bumper Fascia Replacement).
6. Insert the fuse.
7. Adjust the headlamps.
