Transmission Fluid Replacement

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).




2. Remove the drain plug (1) and drain the automatic transmission fluid (ATF).
3. Remove the gasket from the drain plug.
4. Install a NEW transmission fluid drain plug washer to the fluid drain plug (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

5. Install the fluid drain plug.

Tighten the plug to 40 Nm (30 lb ft).

6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Add the fluid. Refer to Fluid Capacity Specifications (Capacity Specifications) and Transmission Fluid Check (Transmission Fluid Check).
