Recall - Tire Size Label Non-Compliance: Overview
FMVSS NONCOMPLIANCEBulletin No.: 08390
Date: December 04, 2008
Subject:
08390 - Tire Size Label
Models:
2009 Saturn Astra XE
Condition
General Motors has decided that certain 2009 model year Saturn Astra vehicles fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 110, Tire Selection and Rims. Certain vehicles have a tire information label bearing the wrong front tire size information (P2105 /55R16) rather than the intended (P205 /55R16). As a tire with the incorrect tire size is not possible, this error has no effect on vehicle safety.
Correction
General Motors will advise customers of the condition and the correct tire specification in the form of a letter which is to be kept with the vehicle owner's manual.
