Rear Object Alarm Module Replacement (L08)

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning (Service Precautions).


Note: When replacing the control unit, before removing the control unit carry out a "Reset" using the Tech 2. For reprogramming procedures, refer to Control Module References (Programming and Relearning).

1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Open the service flap.




3. Release the rear electronics module (REC).

* Disconnect the 7 wiring harness plugs (1).
* Remove the nut (2).
* Release the retaining lug.




4. Remove the rear object alarm module (REC).
5. Remove the object alarm module.

* Release the control unit (1).
* Disconnect the 2 wiring harness plugs (2).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the object alarm module.
2. Insert the REC.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the REC.

* Fasten the object alarm module.

Tighten the nut (2) to 7 Nm (62 lb in).

* Install the retaining lug.
* Connect the 9 wiring harness plugs.

4. Close the service flap.
5. Connect the battery.
