Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement (MK60)
Removal Procedure
Note: It is essential to comply with the instructions for the hydraulic modulator and the electronic brake control module (EBCM). Refer to ABS Control Unit General Repair Specification (ABS Control Unit General Repair Specification).
1. Remove the hydraulic modulator with the EBCM. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Install the mounting link to the hydraulic modulator.
* Remove the 2 sealing plugs (1) from the hydraulic modulator.
* Position the retaining link (2).
* Install the 2 sealing plugs into the hydraulic modulator.
Note: Remove the EBCM from hydraulic modulator without tilting it.
3. Remove the EBCM from the hydraulic modulator.
* Remove the 2 bolts (1).
* Remove the EBCM from the hydraulic modulator.
Installation Procedure
Note: The assembly force can be up to 130 N (29 lb) of force.
1. Install the pump motor adapter to the EBCM.
Press the adapter (1) into the guide (2).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
2. Install the new EBCM to the hydraulic modulator.
Tighten the hydraulic modulator to 5.5 Nm (45 lb in).
* Push the EBCM on to the hydraulic modulator carefully without tilting it.
* Install the 2 new bolts.
3. Remove the retaining link from the hydraulic modulator.
* Remove the 2 sealing plugs from the hydraulic modulator.
* Remove the retaining link.
* Install the 2 sealing plugs into the hydraulic modulator.
4. Install the hydraulic modulator with the EBCM. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement (Service and Repair).
