Instructions

At this time GM Engineering is attempting to determine the root cause of the DTCs setting.

You are requested to capture freeze frame data associated with the DTC codes in order to comply with this Engineering Information bulletin. In the Tech 2(R) Main Menu, please build the vehicle, select "On Board Diagnostics", and then "Freeze Frame Data".

- For vehicles with DTC P0116 and/or P0128 set, please fill out the form above with the proper freeze frame data and fax the entire document to GM Engineering. No other contact is required. Once you have supplied the requested data, please continue to diagnose and repair the vehicle through normal diagnostics outlined in SI.

- For vehicles with DTC P2097, there is no known field fix available. DO NOT replace any parts, including oxygen sensors, to attempt to repair the vehicle. Please fill out the form above with the proper freeze frame data and fax the entire document to the GM Engineer. No other contact is required. You should retain the customer's information so they may be contacted when a permanent field fix is issued.

- Once you have captured and reported the requested data, please clear the codes to turn off the SES lamp before returning the vehicle to the customer. These codes are most likely to reset only under conditions of extreme cold.
