Ignition and Start Switch Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Switch Lock Cylinder Replacement (Removal and Replacement).
3. Remove the ignition and start switch bolts (1).
4. Separate the ignition and start switch (2) from the instrument panel.
5. Disconnect any electrical connectors.
6. Disconnect the park lock cable from the ignition and start switch. Refer to Park Lock Cable Replacement (4T45-E - Automatic Transmission).
7. Remove the theft deterrent control module. Refer to Theft Deterrent Module Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. Remove the ignition and start switch bracket bolts.
9. Remove the ignition and start switch bracket.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the ignition and start switch bracket.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
2. Install the ignition and start switch bracket bolts and tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb in).
3. Install the theft deterrent control module. Refer to Theft Deterrent Module Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Connect the ignition and start switch (2) to the I/P.
5. Install the ignition and start switch bolts (1) and tighten to 2.5 Nm (22 lb in).
6. Connect the park lock cable to the ignition and start switch. Refer to Park Lock Cable Replacement (4T45-E - Automatic Transmission).
7. Connect any electrical connectors.
8. Install the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement (Service and Repair).
9. Install the ignition switch lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Switch Lock Cylinder Replacement (Removal and Replacement).
