Subject: Check Engine Light Illuminated, DTC P0AA1 Set (Replace Battery Energy Control Module Wiring Harness)

Supercede:
This bulletin is being revised to update the 2007 VUE information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 10-06-130-002 (Section 06 - Engine/Propulsion System).

Condition

Some customers may comment that the Check Engine Light located in the instrument cluster is illuminated. The technician may find DTC P0AA1 or a DTC condition that includes an unexpected voltage measurement.

Cause

This condition may be caused by a failed resistor in the battery energy control module (BECM) wiring harness.

Correction

Important
The 2007 VUE had a first and second design for the battery energy control module (BECM). This bulletin will NOT work with the first design BECM. For the first design 2007 Saturn VUE Hybrid, refer to Corporate Bulletin Number 10-06-130-001 for repair information.

DO NOT replace the battery energy control module. The wiring harness is a separate serviceable component.
