DTC Descriptor
DTC B3631 02
- Adjustable Foot Pedal Inhibit Circuit Short to Ground
DTC B3631 05
- Adjustable Foot Pedal Inhibit Circuit Short to Battery or Open
Diagnostic Fault Information
Circuit/System Description
The adjustable pedal system will be disabled by the adjustable pedal module anytime the transmission selector lever is not in the park position while the ignition is on. While the system is being disabled, the body control module (BCM) supplies battery voltage to the adjustable pedal module through the adjustable pedal inhibit signal circuit.
Conditions for Running the DTC
Ignition ON.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
B3631 02
The BCM detects a short to battery or open in the adjustable pedal inhibit signal circuit when the output is active.
B3631 05
The BCM detects a short to ground in the adjustable pedal inhibit signal circuit when the output is inactive.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
The output will be disabled during the current ignition cycle.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
* The conditions for setting the DTC are no longer present.
* A history DTC clears after 100 fault free ignition cycles.

Circuit/System Verification
Ignition ON, transmission in reverse, attempt to operate the adjustable pedals. The adjustable pedals should be disabled.
Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the adjustable pedal module.
2. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp does not illuminate between the adjustable pedal inhibit signal circuit terminal G and ground.
• If the test lamp illuminates, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal replace the BCM.
3. Transmission in reverse, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the adjustable pedal inhibit signal circuit terminal G and ground.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal replace the BCM.
4. If all circuits test normal, replace the adjustable pedal module.
Repair Instructions
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
* Adjustable Pedal Module Replacement
* Control Module References (Programming and Relearning)for BCM replacement, setup, and programming.
