Battery Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable (2). Refer toBattery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the wheelhouse liner. Refer toFront Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Base) (Service and Repair)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Turbo) (Service and Repair).
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Open the positive battery cable connection cover.
5. Loosen the positive battery cable nut.
6. Remove the positive battery cable (1).
7. Remove the front fender rear bracket to side rail bolts.
8. Remove the front fender to front fender rear bracket upper (1) and lower (2) bolts.
9. Remove the front fender rear bracket.
10. Remove the battery hold down retainer bolt and retainer.
Note: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during removal.
11. Remove the battery.
Installation Procedure
Note: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during battery installation.
1. Install the battery.
Caution: Refer toFastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
2. Install the battery hold down retainer and bolt and tighten to25 Nm (18 lb ft).
3. Install the front fender rear bracket.
4. Install the front fender rear bracket to side rail bolts and tighten to20 Nm (15 lb ft).
5. Install the front fender to front fender rear bracket upper (1) and lower (2) bolts and tighten to20 Nm (15 lb ft).
6. Install the positive battery cable (1).
7. Tighten the positive battery cable nut to17 Nm (13 lb ft).
8. Close the positive battery cable connection cover.
9. Install the wheelhouse liner. Refer toFront Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Base) (Service and Repair)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Turbo) (Service and Repair).
10. Connect the negative battery cable (2). Refer toBattery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
