Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

W/Receiver Condenser Assy:

OVERHAUL

1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
SST 07110-58060 (07117-58080, 07117-58090, 07117-78050, 07117-88060, 07117-88070, 07117-88080)

2. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE
3. REMOVE LOW PITCHED HORN ASSY
4. REMOVE HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSY




5. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSY
a. Remove the 3 bolts and hood lock assy.




6. REMOVE HOOD LOCK SUPPORT SUB ASSY
a. Remove the clip.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and hood lock support sub assy.




7. DISCONNECT COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE NO.1
a. Remove the bolt and disconnect the cooler refrigerant discharge hose No.1 from the w/receiver condenser assy.
b. Remove the O-ring from the cooler refrigerant discharge hose No.1.

NOTE: Seal the opening of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.




8. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE SUB ASSY A
a. Remove the liquid tube sub assy from the w/receiver condenser assy.
b. Remove the O-ring from the liquid tube sub assy.

NOTE: Seal the opening of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.




9. REMOVE W/RECEIVER CONDENSER ASSY
a. Remove the 2 bolts and the w/receiver condenser assy.




10. REMOVE CONDENSER BRACKET COLLAR NO.1
a. Remove the 2 bolts and the 2 condenser bracket collar No.1.

11. REMOVE COOLER DRYER




a. Using a socket hexagon wrench 14 mm (0.55 in.), remove the cap from the modulator.




b. Remove the O-ring from the cap.




c. Using pliers, remove the cooler dryer.

12. INSTALL COOLER DRYER




a. Using pliers, install the cooler dryer.




b. Install a new O-ring to the cap.
c. Apply a sufficient amount of compressor oil to fit the surfaces of the O-ring and the cap.
Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent




d. Using a socket hexagon wrench 14 mm (0.55 in.), install the cap to the modulator.

Torque: 2.9 Nm (29 kgf.cm, 25 in.lbf)




13. INSTALL CONDENSER BRACKET COLLAR NO.1
a. Install the 2 bolts and the 2 condenser bracket collars No.1.

Torque: 3.9 Nm (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf)




14. INSTALL W/RECEIVER CONDENSER ASSY
a. Install the w/receiver condenser assy with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 9.8 Nm (100 kgf.cm, 87 in.lbf)

15. INSTALL LIQUID TUBE SUB ASSY A
a. Remove the attached vinyl tape from the pipe and w/receiver condenser assy.
b. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and hose joint.
Compressor oil: ND-OIL8 or equivalent
c. Install the O-ring to the liquid tube sub assy.




d. Install the liquid tube sub assy to the w/receiver condenser assy with the bolt.

Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)

16. CONNECT COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE NO.1
a. Remove the attached vinyl tape from the pipe and w/receiver condenser assy.
b. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and hose joint.
Compressor oil: ND-OIL8 or equivalent
c. Install the O ring to the cooler refrigerant discharge hose No.1.




d. Install the cooler refrigerant discharge hose No.1 to the w/receiver condenser assy with the bolt.

Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)




17. INSTALL HOOD LOCK SUPPORT SUB ASSY
a. Install the hood lock support sub assy with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 5.0 Nm (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

b. Install the clip.




18. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSY
a. Install the hood lock assy with the 3 bolts.

19. INSTALL HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSY
20. INSTALL LOW PITCHED HORN ASSY
21. ADJUST HOOD SUB ASSY
22. CHARGE REFRIGERANT
SST 07110-58060 (07117-58060, 07117-58070, 07117-58080, 07117-58090, 07117-78050, 07117-88060, 07117-88070, 07117-88080)

Specified amount: 460 ± 30 g (16.2 ± 1.1 oz.)

23. WARM UP ENGINE
24. INSPECT LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT
