Replacement

Instrument Panel Passenger Air Bag Assy:

REPLACEMENT
1. OBSERVE RESTRAINT SYSTEMS SERVICE PRECAUTIONS
2. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
3. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSY




4. DISCONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSY CONNECTOR
a. Remove the clamp.
b. Disconnect the instrument panel passenger airbag assy connector.

NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSY W/PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSY




6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIR BAG ASSY
a. Remove the 2 nuts.




b. Disengage the claws of the instrument panel passenger airbag assy, and then remove the instrument panel passenger airbag assy from the instrument panel sub-assy.

7. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIR BAG ASSY
8. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIR BAG ASSY
9. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSY W/PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSY




10. CONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSY CONNECTOR
a. Connect the instrument panel passenger airbag assy connector.
b. Install the clamp.

11. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
Refer to Air Bag Systems; Testing and Inspection.
