Rear Bumper: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT

Rear Bumper:

HINT: The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order.

1. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL LH




a. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw and remove the screw and 2 clips.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

b. Remove the side seal.

2. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

3. REMOVE REAR BUMPER COVER




a. Put protective tape under the front fender.
b. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the 6 bolts and bumper cover.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

c. Disconnect the side marker lamp wire harness and connectors and clamps.

4. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PROTECTOR LH
a. Remove the 3 clips and bumper protector.

5. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PROTECTOR RH
a. Remove the 3 clips and bumper protector.

6. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PIECE LH
a. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 8 claws and remove the 5 clips.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

b. Remove the bumper piece LH and RH together.

7. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PIECE RH
a. Remove the clip and claw, and separate the bumper piece RH and the LH.

8. REMOVE REAR BUMPER EXTENSION RH
a. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the extension.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

9. REMOVE REAR SIDE MARKER LAMP ASSY LH
a. Remove the nut and marker lamp.

10. REMOVE REAR SIDE MARKER LAMP ASSY RH
a. Remove the nut and marker lamp.

11. REMOVE REAR BUMPER CENTER SHIELD BRACKET
a. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 8 claws and remove the 3 shield brackets.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

12. REMOVE REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSY
a. Remove the 6 nuts and reinforcement.

13. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH
a. Remove the 2 screws and 2 side retainers.

14. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH
a. Remove the 2 screws and 2 side retainers.
