Some customers may notice a gap between the back door trim board and the inside back door panel on the 2004 model year Scion xB. Please use the following procedure to improve the condition.

Applicable Warranty:

This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Repair Procedure

1. Remove the 11 clips and back door trim board.

2. Remove any dust, dirt and oil from the attaching surfaces of the double sided adhesive tape on the inside back door panel and the back door trim board.

3. Apply primer to the attaching surfaces of the double sided adhesive tape on the back door trim board.





4. Attach double sided adhesive tape to the back door trim board as shown.

5. Re-install the back door trim board using new clips.

6. Use constant and steady pressure when pressing the positions where the double sided adhesive tape is attached.
