Introduction
On some ECHO, Scion xA, and Scion xB vehicles, a condition may exist that allows the evaporator drain hose to become detached, causing the passenger foot well to become wet. This bulletin provides a procedure to correct this condition.
Applicable Vehicles
^ 2003 - 2005 model year ECHO vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VIN shown below.
^ 2004 - 2006 model year Scion XA and xB vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
Repair Procedure
1. Inspect the evaporator drain hose to ensure that it is the cause of the water leak. If the evaporator hose is out of position, continue with this procedure.
2. Install the retaining clamp on the drain hose.
3. Push the drain hose up onto the evaporator drain tube. Ensure that the drain hose is up far enough for the retaining clamp to fully engage the tube.
4. Release the holding clip.
