Applicability
Introduction
Some 2005 - 2010 model year Scion tC vehicles may exhibit a condition where the driver's seat track slide lock will be inoperative after accessing the rear seat using the seat slide memory lever. This condition is caused from debris entering the seat track assembly and damaging the seat slide memory sub-assembly. The following inspection and repair procedures have been developed to address this condition.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY
^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

TSB Overview
This TSB provides an inspection and seat frame/assembly replacement procedure to repair seat tracks damaged by debris.
Repair Procedure
1. Confirm that the driver's seat track slide lock is inoperative (fore and aft adjustment of the seat will not lock).
A. If the seat track slide lock is inoperative proceed to step 2
B. If the seat track slide lock holds the seat position, STOP This TSB does NOT apply.
2. Remove the driver's seat assembly
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), applicable model and model year Repair Manual:
3. Inspect the inner seat track assembly for missing seat slide memory sub-assembly. If seat slide memory is missing, proceed to Step 4, otherwise refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), applicable model and model year Repair Manual for further diagnosis.
4. Remove and replace the driver's seat frame assembly.
5. Install the driver's seat assembly.

6. Confirm the repair by cycling the seat and using the seat slide memory lever.
