INSTRUMENT PANEL: LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT
HINT: All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet codes in the table below.





2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.

3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal

5. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH Removal

6. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH Removal

7. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH Removal

8. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH Removal

9. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH Removal

10. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH Removal

11. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH CENTER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

12. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH LOWER PANEL Removal

13. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal

14. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal

15. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY Removal

16. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal







17. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)
(a) Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob.






18. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH CENTER LOWER PANEL
(a) Disengage the 2 clips, 4 claws and remove the instrument cluster finish center lower panel.
(b) Disconnect the hazard warning switch connector.






19. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT
(a) Disengage the 3 claws and guide and remove the front console box insert.






20. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT
(a) Disengage the 3 claws and guide and remove the front console box insert.
21. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL (for Manual Transaxle)





(a) Remove the 2 [A] screws.






(b) Disengage the 6 clips and remove the instrument panel finish lower panel.
22. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL (for Automatic Transaxle)





(a) Remove the 4 [A] screws.






(b) Disengage the 6 clips and remove the instrument panel finish lower panel.
23. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)

24. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)

25. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)

26. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)

27. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal

28. DISCONNECT NO. 2 HEATER CONTROL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

29. DISCONNECT AIR MIX DAMPER CONTROL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal







30. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE
(a) Disengage the 2 clips, 3 claws and remove the switch hole base.
(b) Disconnect the 2 connectors.






31. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Disengage the 2 clips and the 7 claws and remove the instrument panel finish lower panel.
(b) Disconnect the each connectors.






32. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB REINFORCEMENT
(a) Remove the 2 [D] bolts and remove the instrument panel sub reinforcement.






33. REMOVE RADIO BRACKET
(a) Remove the 2 [G] bolt and remove the No. 1 radio bracket.
(b) Remove the 2 [G] bolt and remove the No. 2 radio bracket.






34. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SEAL
(a) Disengage the 4 claws and remove the instrument cluster finish panel seal.






35. SEPARATE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Disengage the 3 claws and separate the hood lock control lever.






36. SEPARATE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the 2 clamps and separate the antenna cord.
37. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the DLC3 connector.
(b) Disconnect the front passenger seat belt warning light connector.
(c) Disconnect the 2 clamps.





(d) Remove the [A] screw, 10 [C] screws, 2 [E] bolts, [F] screw and remove the lower instrument panel.






38. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT
(a) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front passenger seat belt warning light.






39. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR STOPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Disengage the claw and remove the glove compartment door stopper.






40. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX
(a) Remove the 8 [A] screws and the instrument panel box.
