SLIDING ROOF / CONVERTIBLE: SLIDING ROOF HOUSING: REMOVAL
1. REMOVE WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING Removal
2. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH
HINT
Perform this step after moving the sliding roof glass sub-assembly to the fully open position.
(a) Remove the sliding roof side garnish LH.
3. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH
HINT
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
4. REMOVE ROOF WIND DEFLECTOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 springs.
(b) Using a screwdriver, push the part of the holder labeled "a" in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration and detach the claw.
HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(c) Slide and rotate the left and right holders as shown in the illustration, and then remove them from the sliding roof guide rail.
(d) Slide the roof wind deflector panel sub-assembly along the grooves of the No. 1 sliding roof housing panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration and remove it.

5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
HINT
Perform this step after moving the sliding roof glass sub-assembly to the fully closed position.
6. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 6 screws.
(b) Remove the sliding roof glass sub-assembly.
7. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

8. REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH

9. REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH

10. REMOVE NO. 2 SIDE TRIM BASE COVER LH Removal
11. REMOVE NO. 2 SIDE TRIM BASE COVER RH Removal
12. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly.
13. REMOVE FRONT SLIDING ROOF HOUSING MOUNTING BRACKET LH
(a) Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and front sliding roof housing mounting bracket LH.
14. REMOVE FRONT SLIDING ROOF HOUSING MOUNTING BRACKET RH

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
15. REMOVE CENTER SLIDING ROOF HOUSING MOUNTING BRACKET LH
(a) Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and center sliding roof housing mounting bracket LH.
16. REMOVE CENTER SLIDING ROOF HOUSING MOUNTING BRACKET RH

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
17. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF HOUSING ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 9 nuts and sliding roof housing assembly.
18. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF HOUSING PANEL WITH GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 18 nuts and sliding roof housing panel with glass sub-assembly.
NOTICE:
When removing the housing, be careful not to damage the vehicle.
