DESCRIPTION

The recirculation damper servo sub-assembly and No. 1 heater control sub-assembly are powered through the HTR-IG fuse. Operating the No. 1 heater control sub-assembly drives the recirculation damper servo sub-assembly to switch between "Fresh" and "Recirculation".

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses and relays for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RECIRCULATION DAMPER SERVO AND NO. 1 HEATER CONTROL - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the C29 servo connector.





(b) Disconnect the C30 heater control connector.

(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





(e) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT NO. 1 HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the No. 1 heater control sub-assembly Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(c) Apply battery voltage to the terminals and check that the indicator light comes on.

OK:





NG -- REPLACE NO. 1 HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY - RECIRCULATION DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the C30 heater control connector.

(b) Disconnect the C29 servo connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE RECIRCULATION DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY Disassembly
