SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
1. SEAT BELT WARNING SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
If a seat belt is not fastened, this system flashes the seat belt warning light or sounds the seat belt warning buzzer as a reminder.
(a) Seat belt warning light (for Driver Side):
When the driver side seat belt is not fastened with the ignition switch ON, the driver side seat belt warning light in the combination meter blinks to inform the driver. The center airbag sensor detects the driver side seat belt status and sends signals to the main body ECU, and then the main body ECU sends signals to the combination meter using the CAN.
(b) Seat belt warning light (for Front Passenger Side):
When the front passenger side seat belt is not fastened with the ignition switch ON and the front passenger seat occupied, the front passenger side seat belt warning light of the combination meter blinks to inform the driver. The combination meter displays the front passenger side seat belt status and whether the front passenger seat is occupied.
(c) Seat belt warning buzzer:
When the ignition switch is turned ON and 1.8 seconds elapse while the driver side seat belt is not fastened, the seat belt warning buzzer in the combination meter sounds 5 times at an interval of 1.2 seconds. When 13.8 seconds have elapsed after turning the ignition switch ON, the shift lever is in D and the vehicle is driven at approximately 20 km/h (12 mph) while the driver or front passenger side seat belt is unfastened, the seat belt warning buzzer in the combination meter sounds at an interval of 1.2 seconds for 9.6 seconds. After that, the buzzer sounds at an interval of 0.4 seconds for 20 seconds.
