WIPER / WASHER: FRONT WIPER MOTOR: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a T30 "TORX" socket, install the wiper motor with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)





2. INSTALL FRONT WIPER CRANK SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Check the automatic stop position.

(1) Check that the motor stops automatically at the automatic stop position Inspection.

(b) When replacing the front wiper crank sub-assembly with a new ones:

(1) Temporarily install a new front wiper crank sub-assembly to the windshield wiper motor assembly with the nut.





(2) Temporarily install the wiper link to the crank arm pivot of the front wiper crank sub-assembly.





(3) Align the front wiper crank sub-assembly with the wiper link as shown in the illustration.

(c) When reusing the windshield wiper motor:

(1) Install the front wiper crank with the nut so that the matchmarks on the wiper motor, front wiper crank and nut are aligned.

HINT
Hold the front wiper crank sub-assembly by hand when tightening the nut.

Torque : 17 Nm (173 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf)

(d) Apply MP grease to the front wiper crank pivot of the windshield wiper motor assembly.

(e) Connect the rod of the wiper link to the front wiper crank sub-assembly.





3. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK

(a) Move the wiper motor and link in the direction shown by the arrow in the illustration to attach the wiper cushion to the body and install the wiper motor and link.





(b) Install the 2 bolts.

Torque : 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf)

(c) Connect the connector and attach the clamp to install the wire harness to the cowl top panel.

4. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH

(a) Move the cowl top ventilator louver RH in the direction by the arrow in the illustration to attach the 5 claws and 6 guides and install the louver.





(b) Install the clip.

5. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER LH

(a) Move the cowl top ventilator louver LH in the direction by the arrow in the illustration to attach the 4 claws and 5 guides and install the louver.





(b) Install the clip.

(c) Attach the 2 claws and 3 guides to install the center cowl top ventilator louver.

6. INSTALL HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL

(a) Attach the 6 clips and 2 claws to install the hood to cowl top seal.

7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

8. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Operate the wiper and stop the front wiper motor and link at the automatic stop position.

(b) Clean the wiper arm serrations.

(c) When reusing the front wiper motor and link assembly:

(1) Clean the wiper pivot serrations with a wire brush.

(d) Align the blade tip with the mark shown in the illustration.

(e) Install the front wiper arm and blade assembly RH with the nut.

Torque : 23 Nm (235 kgf-cm, 17 ft-lbf)

HINT
Hold the arm hinge by hand when tightening the nut.

9. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Operate the wiper and stop the front wiper motor and link at the automatic stop position.

(b) Clean the wiper arm serrations.

(c) When reusing the front wiper motor and link assembly:

(1) Clean the wiper pivot serrations with a wire brush.

(d) Align the blade tip with the mark shown in the illustration.

(e) Install the front wiper arm and blade assembly LH with the nut.

Torque : 23 Nm (235 kgf-cm, 17 ft-lbf)

HINT
Hold the arm hinge by hand when tightening the nut.

(f) Operate the front wipers while spraying washer fluid on the windshield glass. Make sure that the front wipers function properly and the wipers do not come into contact with the vehicle body.

10. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM COVER

(a) Install the front wiper arm covers.

Use the same procedure for all windshield wiper arm covers.
