Removal





WIPER / WASHER: FRONT WIPER MOTOR: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

2. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM COVER

(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the windshield wiper arm covers.

HINT
* Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
* Use the same procedure for all windshield wiper arm covers.





3. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the nut and front wiper arm and blade assembly LH.





4. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Remove the nut and front wiper arm and blade assembly RH.





5. REMOVE HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL

(a) Using a clip remover, detach the 6 clips and 2 claws, and remove the hood to cowl top seal.





6. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER LH

(a) Detach the 2 claws and 3 guides, and remove the center cowl top ventilator louver.





(b) Remove the clip.





(c) Detach the 4 claws and 5 guides, and remove the cowl top ventilator louver LH in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

7. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH

(a) Remove the clip.





(b) Detach the 5 claws and 6 guides, and remove the cowl top ventilator louver RH in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

8. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK

(a) Disconnect the connector. Then detach the clamp and remove the wire harness from the cowl top panel.





(b) Remove the 2 bolts.





(c) Move the wiper cushion in the direction shown by the arrow in the illustration to detach the wiper cushion from the body and remove the wiper link.





9. REMOVE FRONT WIPER CRANK SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver, disconnect the wiper rod of the wiper motor and link assembly from the front wiper crank pivot of the windshield wiper motor, as shown in the illustration.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.





(b) Place matchmarks on the wiper motor, front wiper crank sub-assembly and nut.

(c) Remove the nut and front wiper crank.

HINT
Hold the front wiper crank sub-assembly by hand when loosening the nut.

10. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a T30 ''TORX'' socket, remove the 2 bolts and windshield wiper motor.
