DESCRIPTION
The front back door lock motor is built into the back door lock assembly. The main body ECU controls the back door lock to lock/unlock the back door lock assembly. This main body ECU applies current from terminal ACT+ to terminal ACT- to operate the motor to lock the door. It reverses the direction of the current flow to operate the motor to unlock the door.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY TECHSTREAM (BACK DOOR OPEN)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
(e) Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.
Main Body:
OK:
Back door lock is opened.
NG -- INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
2. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the back door lock Removal.
(b) Apply battery voltage and check operation of the door lock motor.
OK:
(c) Reinstall the back door lock Installation.
NG -- REPLACE BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK DOOR LOCK MOTOR - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the L3 back door lock connector.
(b) Disconnect the C45 main body ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
(d) Reconnect the back door lock connector.
(e) Reconnect the main body ECU connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
