SLIDING ROOF: SLIDING ROOF HOUSING: REMOVAL

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Service Precautions.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

2. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

3. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH

(a) Disengage the 5 claws and remove the sliding roof garnish.





4. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH

HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

5. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 4 bolts and glass.





NOTICE:
To prevent the sliding roof glass and sliding roof drive gear from being displaced, fully close the sliding roof glass (sliding roof drive cable), and then remove the sliding roof glass.

6. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and the curtain shield airbag RH.





HINT
Use same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

(b) Remove the nut.





(c) Disengage the claw and remove the map light bracket.

(d) Remove the 4 sliding roof drain hoses.

(e) Remove the 4 bolts and the 7 nuts, and the sliding roof housing.





7. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF WEATHERSTRIP

(a) Remove the sliding roof weatherstrip.
