2AZ-FE ENGINE MECHANICAL: ENGINE UNIT: REMOVAL
HINT
Check whether the engine is TMC made or not by referring to the following illustration.

1. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
2. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY Removal
3. DISCONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE Removal
4. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD
(a) Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.
(b) Remove the wire harness clamp.
(c) Remove the 5 bolts, 2 nuts and intake manifold.
(d) Remove the gasket from the intake manifold.
5. REMOVE NO. 1 INTAKE MANIFOLD INSULATOR Removal
6. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR
(a) Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator.
7. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY
(a) Remove the bolt and nut, then remove the manifold stay.
8. REMOVE NO. 2 MANIFOLD STAY
(a) Remove the bolt and nut, then remove the No. 2 manifold stay.
9. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 5 nuts and exhaust manifold converter.
(b) Remove the gasket.
10. REMOVE IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
11. REMOVE INLET WATER Removal
12. REMOVE THERMOSTAT
13. REMOVE TRANSVERSE ENGINE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET Removal
14. REMOVE OIL DIPSTICK
15. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE (for TMC Made Engine)
(a) Remove the bolt and engine oil level dipstick guide.
(b) Remove the O-ring from the engine oil level dipstick guide.
16. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE (except TMC Made Engine)
(a) Remove the bolt and engine oil level dipstick guide.
(b) Remove the O-ring from the engine oil level dipstick guide.
17. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE (for TMC Made Engine)
(a) Remove the bolt and 2 nuts, then remove the No. 1 water by-pass pipe.
(b) Remove the gasket.
18. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE (except TMC Made Engine)
(a) Remove the bolt and 2 nuts, then remove the No. 1 water by-pass pipe.
(b) Remove the gasket.
19. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY Removal
20. REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR Removal
21. REMOVE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH Removal
22. REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR Removal
23. REMOVE RADIO SETTING CONDENSER
(a) Remove the bolt and radio setting condenser.
