SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: REAR AIRBAG SENSOR: INSTALLATION

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing.

HINT
The procedure described below is for the RH side. Use the same procedure for both the LH and RH sides, unless otherwise specified.

1. INSTALL REAR AIRBAG SENSOR

(a) Confirm that the ignition switch is turned to OFF.

(b) Confirm that the negative battery terminal is detached.

CAUTION:
* Confirm that the negative battery terminal is disconnected before performing the operation. Even an impact to only the airbag sensor will cause the airbag to deploy.
(c) Insert the hook into the body hole and install the airbag sensor with the bolt.

Torque : 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf)

NOTICE:
* Do not use a rear airbag sensor that has been dropped.
* Do not subject the rear airbag sensor to any impact or force.

(d) Confirm that there is no looseness by shaking the rear airbag sensor.





(e) Connect the airbag connector.

7. INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH Installation (from 10/2010)

8. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH Installation (from 10/2010)

9. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH Installation

10. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH Installation

11. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION WITH COVER PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

12. INSTALL DECK FLOOR BOX RH Installation (from 10/2010)

13. INSTALL DECK FLOOR BOX LH Installation (from 10/2010)

14. INSTALL REAR DECK FLOOR BOX Installation (from 10/2010)

15. INSTALL REAR FLOOR CARPET ASSEMBLY Installation (from 10/2010)

16. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Torque : 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)

17. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
