Crankshaft Main Bearing
CRANKSHAFTThe main bearing cap bolts should be tightened in 3 progressive steps.
Step 1:
Install and uniformly tighten the 10 main bearing cap bolts in several steps in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)
Step 2:
Tighten the bearing cap bolts in several steps in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque 40 Nm (408 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf)
Step 3:
Mark the front of the bearing cap bolts with paint.
Further tighten the bearing cap bolts by 90° in the sequence shown in the previous illustration.
Check that the paint mark is now at a 90° angle to the front.

There are 4 sizes of standard bearings, marked "1", "2", "3" and "4" accordingly.
EXAMPLE: Cylinder block "3" + Crankshaft "5" = Total number 8 (Use bearing "3")
