Installation
SUSPENSION: FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM: INSTALLATION
1. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
(a) Position the front suspension crossmember on a level surface.
(b) Temporarily install the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly RH onto the front suspension crossmember with the 2 bolts and nut.
NOTICE:
Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut fixed.
2. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for Automatic Transaxle)
(a) Position the front suspension crossmember on a level surface.
(b) Temporarily install the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH onto the front suspension crossmember with the 2 bolts and nut.
NOTICE:
Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut fixed.
3. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)
(a) Support the front suspension crossmember with a transmission jack.
(b) While inserting SST into the reference holes on the front suspension crossmember RH and LH alternately, tighten 2 bolts A, 2 bolts B, and 2 nuts on the RH and LH sides to the respective specified torque in several steps.

Bolt A - Torque : 145 Nm (1479 kgf-cm, 107 ft-lbf)
Bolt B - Torque : 95 Nm (969 kgf-cm, 70 ft-lbf)
Nut - Torque : 95 Nm (969 kgf-cm, 70 ft-lbf)
4. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)
(a) Support the front suspension crossmember with a transmission jack.
(b) While inserting SST into the reference holes on the front suspension crossmember RH and LH alternately, tighten 2 bolts A, 2 bolts B, and 2 nuts on the RH and LH sides to the respective specified torque in several steps.

Bolt A - Torque : 145 Nm (1479 kgf-cm, 107 ft-lbf)
Bolt B - Torque : 95 Nm (969 kgf-cm, 70 ft-lbf)
Nut - Torque : 95 Nm (969 kgf-cm, 70 ft-lbf)
5. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE REAR LH
(a) Install the front suspension member brace rear LH with the 3 bolts.
Torque : 145 Nm (1479 kgf-cm, 107 ft-lbf) for bolt A
Torque : 93 Nm (948 kgf-cm, 69 ft-lbf) for bolt B
6. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE REAR RH
HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
7. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT LH
(a) Install the front suspension member reinforcement LH with the 4 bolts.
Torque : 96 Nm (979 kgf-cm, 71 ft-lbf)
NOTICE:
Temporarily tighten bolts A and B, and then fully tighten the 4 bolts in the order of C, B, D, and A.
8. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT RH
(a) Install the front suspension member reinforcement RH with the 4 bolts.
Torque : 96 Nm (979 kgf-cm, 71 ft-lbf)
NOTICE:
Temporarily tighten bolts A and B, and then fully tighten the 4 bolts in the order of C, B, D, and A.
9. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for Manual Transaxle)
(a) Temporarily install the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH to the front suspension crossmember with the 2 bolts and nut.
NOTICE:
Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut fixed.
10. CONNECT FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Installation
11. CONNECT FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
12. CONNECT TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Installation
13. CONNECT TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
14. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Install the front stabilizer link assembly LH to the front stabilizer bar with the nut.
Torque : 74 Nm (755 kgf-cm, 55 ft-lbf)
HINT
If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a hexagon wrench (6mm) to hold the stud bolt.
15. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH
HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
16. CONNECT NO. 1 STEERING COLUMN HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
17. CONNECT NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY Installation
18. INSTALL COLUMN HOLE COVER SILENCER SHEET Installation
19. INSTALL FRONT WHEELS
Torque : 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
20. STABILIZE SUSPENSION
(a) Lower the vehicle.
(b) Press down on the vehicle several times to stabilizer the suspension.
21. FULLY TIGHTEN FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Using SST, fully tighten the bolt A.
SST : 09961-01270
without SST - Torque : 233 Nm (2376 kgf-cm, 172 ft-lbf)
with SST - Torque : 172 Nm (1755 kgf-cm, 127 ft-lbf)
NOTICE:
* Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut fixed.
* Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 425 mm (16.73 in.).
* This torque value is effective when SST is parallel to the torque wrench Service Precautions.
(b) Fully tighten the bolt B.
Torque : 233 Nm (2376 kgf-cm, 172 ft-lbf)
22. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER REAR RH
23. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER REAR LH
24. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER
25. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
26. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
