Removal





SUSPENSION: FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE FRONT WHEELS

2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

3. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

4. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER REAR LH

5. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER REAR RH

6. LOOSEN FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Loosen the bolt.





NOTICE:
Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Loosen the bolt with the nut fixed.

7. LOOSEN FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Loosen the bolt.

Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Loosen the bolt with the nut fixed.

8. SEPARATE FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal

9. SEPARATE FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

10. REMOVE FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for Manual Transaxle)

(a) Remove the 2 bolts, nut, and front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH from the front suspension crossmember.





NOTICE:
Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Loosen the bolt with the nut fixed.

11. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

12. SECURE STEERING WHEEL Removal

13. REMOVE COLUMN HOLE COVER SILENCER SHEET Removal

14. SEPARATE NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY Removal

15. SEPARATE NO. 1 STEERING COLUMN HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

16. SEPARATE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the nut and separate the stabilizer link assembly LH from the front stabilizer bar.





HINT
If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a hexagon wrench (6mm) to hold the stud bolt.

17. SEPARATE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

18. SEPARATE TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal

19. SEPARATE TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

20. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT LH

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and front suspension member reinforcement LH.





21. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT RH

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and front suspension member reinforcement RH.





22. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE REAR LH

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and front suspension member brace rear LH.





23. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE REAR RH

HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

24. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)

(a) Support the front suspension crossmember with a transmission jack.

(b) Remove the 4 bolts, 2 nuts, and front suspension crossmember sub-assembly.





25. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)

(a) Support the front suspension crossmember with a transmission jack.

(b) Remove the 4 bolts, 2 nuts, and front suspension crossmember sub-assembly.





26. REMOVE FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for Automatic Transaxle)

(a) Remove the 2 bolts, nut, and front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH from the front suspension crossmember.





NOTICE:
Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Loosen the bolt with the nut fixed.

27. REMOVE FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Remove the 2 bolts, nut, and front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly RH from the front suspension crossmember.





NOTICE:
Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Loosen the bolt with the nut fixed.
