Exhaust Gas Recirculation: Description and Operation

Exhaust Gas Recirculation System:

The EGR system aims at reduction of NOx by lowering combustion chamber termperature through recirculation of a part of exhaust gas into cylinders via the collecor chamber. The EGR system consists of the following components:
^ EGR valve
^ EGR control solenoid
^ EGR check valve (turbo only)
