Throttle Full Close Switch: Adjustments
Fig.35 Throttle Switch Terminal ID.:
Fig.36 Thickness Gauge Insertion - Portion G.:
NOTE: On all models, do not attempt to adjust throttle body stopper screw. Adjust engine idle speed by turning idle adjusting screw.
1. Check and adjust idle contact as follows:
a. Using a suitable ohmmeter, ensure continuity exists between A and C when throttle is completely closed,Fig. 35.
b. Insert a 0.55 mm (.022 inch) feeler gauge between stopper screw of throttle body and stopper portion G, Fig. 36. Ensure continuity exists between A and C, Fig. 35
c. If continuity does not exist in steps a or b, adjust switch by loosening screws and rotating switch body. Repeat steps a and b.
d. Insert a 0.92 mm (.036 inch) feeler gauge between stopper screw of throttle body and stopper portion G, Fig. 36. Check for continuity between A and C,Fig. 35. Continuity should now be broken. If not, loosen set screws and adjust switch by rotating.
2. Using a suitable ohmmeter, check for continuity between B and C when throttle angle is approximately 30 deg.
3. If proper results cannot be obtained in any steps above, replace throttle switch.
