723233040 SEAL PLATE INSTALLED IN DOJ SPARE PARTS UNITS
This Bulletin is provided as additional information to Service Bulletin 03-29-83 dated 1-3-83.
When using the DOJ boot, part number, 723222043, or boot kit, part number SPS222043, the DOJ Unit must be fitted with a seal plate, part number 723233040, as stated in Service Bulletin 03-29-83.
The seal plates may be either silver or yellow in color in spare parts units (P/N SPS290001) produced since August 1981 and can be identified by one or two flattened edges on the outer perimeter of the plate. Inspection of the seal plate can be performed by removal of the ball and cage from the DOJ unit.
When installing a 723233040 seal plate in a DOJ Unit, do not use sealant of any type on the seal plate.
