SUBJECT: MODIFIED DOOR GLASS STABILIZER
A modified door glass outer stabilizer is available through Subaru Parts Department. This stabilizer set should be used as a service part when you encounter a condition of scratched door glass caused by contamination of the roller type stabilizer.
The modified stabilizer is a brush type which is less susceptible to contamination from sand and salt which could cause glass scratching.
The brush type stabilizer has been used in 1989 Leone production since
November, 1988, starting with VIN's: 007240 217306
420339 804407
XT production was modified in May 88 starting with VIN 315898.
The stabilizer kit can be ordered using P/N 60175GA370. This kit includes two brush type stabilizers and attaching screws. The individual brush type stabilizer is also available under P/N 60175GA280. If you are using this P/N in a car originally fitted with the roller type, you must use a new screw P/N 9043600001.
NOTE: When replacing the roller type stabilizer with the brush type, it is important to use the new screws. The original screws are longer than the replacement and could cause scratching.
