Air/Fuel Mixture: Adjustments

Connect a dwell meter to the Yellow/Red wire in Check Connector l (pink) near the right strut tower. Set the meter on the 4 cylinder scale and observe the needle movement with the engine idling.
Dwell reading should move up and down within the 30-40 degree range. If not, run the engine at 2500 RPM for 2 minutes and recheck.
If dwell reading is not within specified limits, adjust the idle mixture screw. After adjustments, the duty ratio should be 50 degrees for high-altitude Hitachi carburetors and 32 degrees for all other applications.
